Buttons

  • Buttons should be sentence case. Only capitalize trademarks, brand names, or abbreviations that require it. 
  • Make the copy actionable (verb-like). For example, Continue might be preferable to Next. Better yet is something that suggests the specific action a user is taking. Avoid lazy terms like Submit
  • Avoid punctuation whenever possible. That means ampersands, commas, as well as ellipses. 
  • Articles (a, the) should be used sparingly on buttons. Keep the action to the point.
