- Spell out numbers one through nine. Numerals for 10 and above.
- Spell out a number when it’s the first word of a sentence, or recast the sentence.
- Use numerals when referring to money (3 cents, 3 millions dollars).
- Spell out the word percent, but use the symbol (%) for reports or when there isn’t enough space.
- Don’t use ordinals for dates (October 7 not October 7th).
- Phone numbers use dashes for Canada and the U.S. Other international numbers use spaces.
